Taekwon-Do – the world’s most popular martial art…

With 14 million practitioners worldwide, Taekwon-Do is famous for its spectacular range of kicks and punches.

Developed by a Korean army general, it aims to develop the student physically and mentally, creating a well-rounded and balanced individual.

IMAA - the training ground of ITF Taekwon-Do World Champions…

Gold, Silver and Bronze… We count several European and World Champions among our students.

With over 21 years of teaching experience, Stephen Cooley has more than a decade of experience as National Sparring Coach for the Irish team – in the last year alone, he has coached 2 World and 11 European Champions. All of his students are trained as athletes and potential World Champions from the moment they walk in the door.

Those students who have shown the required dedication and commitment have gone on to represent Ireland and to win at international competitions.

From White Belt to Black Belt...

Your child’s Taekwon-Do journey begins at White Belt and it is here that the seeds of life-long learning are sown. Every child is trained to the best of his or her ability and at an age appropriate level.

  • All students are trained in the 5 disciplines of Taekwon-Do:
  • Sparring
  • Self-Defence
  • Special Technique
  • Power
  • Step-sparring

Students are graded on a regular basis. This allows them to progress from White Belt through a series of coloured tags and belts to reach Black Belt level.

Taekwon-Do – strength of mind and body…

Taekwon-Do is not just a sport… It develops the body but also places importance on the development of a strong mind. General Choi Hong-Hi, the founder of ITF Taekwon-Do, created the Tenets of Taekwon-Do:

  • Courtesy
  • Integrity
  • Perseverance
  • Self-Control
  • Indomitable Spirit

In training, your child will not only become physically strong and fit, but will also learn discipline and values. These are beneficial tools that will assist your child on their journey to adulthood and through life.
